Kuya Tribe Radio - Freestyle Friday Episode 1

CoverGirls.jpg

What's going on everybody?  Hope you all are enjoying the mixes as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.  This time around my good friend DJ Vaperz came through and we recorded a live set and started the first of many future installments of Kuya Tribe Radio.  For the first episode we decided to pay tribute to a forgotten era which is Freestyle music.  Many of the DJ's I learned from were spinnin this type of music back in the day (Shout out to Kuya D and Roli Rho).  I remember being a little kid trying to learn all of this music so I could go to school the next day just to be like, " you ain't up on this!!!"  Wow I must've been in like 2nd grade but anyways to all of you up and coming DJ's I can't stress enough how important it is to do your history and learn all of the different eras in music.  Freestyle music obviously had a huge influence to what later became Atlanta Bass (see Gee Mix below).  So this is my little way to pay homage to the Freestyle Era.  We'll be taking requests for future episodes so get at me on facebook, myspace, or email me at deejaymikerizzy@gmail.com  Peace.
