Respect The Queen

Mary J. Blige will always be one of my favorite artists. Even though she’s made songs with Elton John, Sting, U2, etc. She’s never lost her street credibility working with just about every pop artist, while others who’ve tried haven’t been nearly as successful (Wyclef). In short, Mary J. is Hip Hop. Here’s a short selection of some her classics. So this one is for all of you ladies and r&b fanatics like myself. I’ll have to man it up a little on the next joint though. Peace.

You’ve really outdone yourself Mike. This is great. one mix i thought you’d make by now is a VA tribute: Missy Elliot, Timbaland and Magoo, NERD/Neptunes…what you think?

i actually thought about that but decided to give them all individual shine. the thing is, i love timbaland and the neptunes to death but my favorite producer from VA is actually Nottz who i’ll be paying homage to soon. so look out for that.

Have you done an SWV mix?

been thinkin about that since they’re probably the greatest r&b group in the 90’s not named en vogue. good suggestion though bro.
